How is cheaper, readily available CGI impacting indie film?


Public Radio's "Studio 360" has a piece on "the democratization of CGI," how cloud computing and filmmakers' ability to cheaply outsource bits and pieces of SFX work is changing indie film.
The example they cite here is the Finnish thriller "Iron Sky." Gareth Edwards didn't do much outsourcing for "Monsters," but that would be another example of a film that didn't let what used to be prohibitive
